Nice solution by Knight's Armament Company. Is this the historical moment when demand (US military in urban environment) and surplus (weapon manufacturers) curves cross?

The idea to mount a small backup/CQB reflex sight (like Docter, J-point or Optima etc named) in Knight's solution is not new. Knight's  solution to mount is not the best one in many cases because the sight looks to be assembled so that the elevation turret covers part of the view. Better way is to mount the small sight to  45 degrees/315 degrees sector, so it can be seen between the elevation and windage/parallax/ligh turrets. LaRue might provide a mounting solution suitable for optimas etc:   http://www.laruetactical.com/marketplace/servlet/Marketplaces?webEvent%28ViewProductGridPage,folderClick%29&folderID=6376&scrollTop=86">http://www.laruetactical.com/marketplac ... rollTop=86">http://www.laruetactical.com/marketplace/servlet/Marketplaces?webEvent(ViewProductGridPage,folderClick)&folderID=6376&scrollTop=86

Anyway, an excellent idea to add a tiny sight on a bigger scope.

Espo, Knight's Amament shows this solution also. Take look at upper picture on the right side.

In rifle IPSC shooters have been adding these small hud-sights (or even normal aimpoint-type dots) on bigger optics for a decade. The thing works but fast shooting still needs training. I even saw an old guy of some 60+ years have the same configuration on his elk-rig some time ago. And he as well was very happy with it.
