M39/SOV 54R load

Today I fired my M39/SOV replica in preparation for upcoming Camp Perry Natnl Vintage Sniper match.   At 100yds.

Mild load:  PPU brass, SMK174/.311, WLR-M, 49gns H4350, light Lee factory crimp, ~2400 fps.  The match is shot at 300 and 600yds.

I have shot this same rifle/bullet at 1000yds with 53gns of H4350, ~2780 fps.

Normal I used Sako and Lapua brass, but my daugter use S&B cases. She get very good results, reload  N120 and light bullets to normal 150m distance.

I developed this load specifically for a 1000yds match.  I was struggling with getting consistent velocity.  SD was 30-40fps.  I compared to new PPU 182gn ammo.  It had SD in the 8-12fps range. 

I examined the PPU 182 and found that:
- It had a case full of very slow powder.
- It had a very hot primer.
- It had a very strong crimp.

So I got some slow H4350, went to WLR-M (from weak CCI-200) and started applying a light Lee crimp.  This brought the SD down to under 10fps.

The M39 has such a deep long throat.  I think the CCI-200 was popping the bullet out of the case without consistently igniting the powder.
