Hello Timo,
I am very pleased with the interest you and your friend have shown in our stock. We are also currently studying an RFBR stock. In view of the results we obtain during ammunition tests I am convinced of the potential of such a stock.
Technically, the mounting on a stock of our fixing devices by the barrel does not pose any particular problem. Your friend being a gunsmith will be easy for him. There is however an unavoidable constraint, it is the width of our fixing blocks. The housing in the stock must be 40 mm wide for a depth of 24 mm.
Regarding the fixing device, we offer two separate systems that do not have exactly the same properties.
The first system consists of two fixing blocks using O-rings. The O-rings hold the barrel and help stiffen it while filtering the vibrations of the latter and considerably limiting their transmission to the stock.
The second system is more rigid and uses DELRIN clamping cones. These blocks are lower and therefore the barrel is lower on the stock. The rigidity of the barrel is increased but the system absorbs vibrations less. Precision is just as perfect.
Sergey Kamenskiy had achieved the World record for the 3X40 with the first system (1187) but for several months has been using the second system with which he established the European Games record in Minsk with 1182.
I draw your attention to the importance of a good tightening of the fixing blocks. The threaded rings of these must be tightened between 15 and 20 Nm (depending on the model) using the specific tool that we have designed and which is fixed on a torque wrench. It is imperative to be able to measure this tightening torque, and of course the blocks must be able to be moved on the stock, as on our Universal Concept model, in order to find the ideal position.
Note also that our tests are carried out with a device that allows the rifle to move back freely, without any constraint either on the barrel or on the stock. The results are therefore extremely close to what can be obtained in shooting conditions.
For an RFBR stock I recommend either two double fixing blocks using O-rings, or two clamping blocks with cones.
If your friend places an order as a professional, the prices will be net of tax.
The clamping blocks are all at the same price, ie € 105.00 per unit excluding taxes (126.00 * taxes included).
I send you some photos as attachments.
I remain at your disposal and that of Mr. Tapani Nousiainen for any further information.
Best regards,
Pascal Bessy
