Olisko porukalla kokemusta tuosta milicomista joka myy ior optiikkaa,ja tietysti kokemuksia uusista 2011-2013 pitkänmatkan malleista otetaan vastaan..
Eli onko hinta/laatusuhde kohdillaan,napsujen paikkansa pitävyys,neliötestit,toistettavuus 0-piste-1000m ees taas..?

Yllättäen pystyy ampumaan ihan hyvin myös 4x suurennoksella,ei juuri tunneloi,ja suurimmallakin pystyy ampumaan,tosin selvin kuva siinä 26-27x,mutta 28x esim.pystyi 10m tarkentamaan siten että voi rullamitasta määrittää mrad.arvoja ristikolle,ja toisaalta pystyi tarkentamaan myös yli tonniin,joten se puoli ok,valaisu toimii hämärässä,kuva omasta mielestä yllättävän hyvä,joten mikäli koro napsut pelaa vielä 2v kuluttuakin niin hyvä ostos,jos ei sit ammutaan ristikolla..

Kiitos testaustiedoista. Vielä jos saisi vähän osviittaa hämäräominaisuuksista niin avot.
Itse olen ollut tällä hetkellä käytössä olevaan kiinteään kymppiin tyytyväinen. Jopa 5-25 S&B mies kehaisi että olipa hyvä kuva, kun päivällä läpi katseli. Jostain syystä vaan foorumeilla ei ole kovinkaan hyviä kommentteja ko. merkista tullut.
ps. paljonko muuten maksoit? en nimittäin löytänyt sivuilta hintoja?

hinta oli noilla ominaisuuksilla mielestäni oikein kohdillaan,kun tukevat jalat/renkaat tuli mukana,vastavalosuoja, toimitettuna 3pv tehtaalta lähimpään matkahuoltoon,normi toimitusaika olisi ollut 100e halvempi,mutta kun tarvitsi pikana..eli normi hinta olisi ollut alle 1800e,en tiedä sitten vaikuttiko että oli eka kyseinen putki suomeen...
Tuota olisi ilmeisesti saatavissa myös 338lm rummulla...

there are 2 diferent 4-28 IOR and First gen was first 7x scope on the market is not that great mechanicaly
Second gen in completely new design ,features ED glass and great optical quality ,suprisinlly even in dusk a 50mm scope.

I read the article and it was atleast somewhat promising. In addition to such review it would be also great to hear that is the investment wise in the longer term regarding durability i.e. Should i invest 1.8k in the recon or 1.6k in the 6-24x56 or plainly just buy the S&B with ~3k Virtually double the price does not feel wort it... Personally i just find the beefy elevation knob, decent glass and robust appearance appealing in the IOR and hence i would be going for it. In addition the IOR suits the budget better than the S&B.
So dear Mr.T if you have any comments regarding the longer term use I am all ears
.. Ja muiltakin kuin Mr.T ltä otetaan kiitollisesti kommentteja ja kokemuksia vastaan....

I got my Recon a while ago and is used on a .284win Jalonen JJ-90 i am very satisfied with it , scope will in my opinion optically match just about any scope you can find under 2x the price ,IOR always had top glass , one i have tracks absolutely perfect i did test it prior to FS , mid tube parallax is a bit funny but works very well, i suspect the reason for this is that some older gen scopes failed in area of paralax control, IOR had one generation of scopes which failed a lot i know of at least two personally , 2 gen 6-24x56 is a good buy but optically it can't compare with Recon.
Eye relief change from 4 to 28 is sometimes quite noticable in prone shooting , MP8 reticle is a nice one but it seems that i was not tailored to this specific scope, 1/4 mil marks disapear at cca 14x magnification 1/4mil hashtags are at 14.5 mil !!(probably for shooting at realy fast moving targets lol) while at 28x you only see cca 7 mill on each side of the reticle) ,40mm tube limits you to the choice of mounts. Secondary zero who needs that i will upgrade the turret to customised BDC inserts instead.
High end scopes are all handbuilt and all come with occasional QC issues ,Khales on the bottom picture has 10% tracking error .
Mp8 extreme reticle , hashes go to 15 mil each side and 1/4mil hashes are at cca 13.5-15mil so way too far out at 28x

The point about the 0.25hashes is good. Would not have noticed that. Definately would make more sense to have them where they can be used

Other than the hashes, some have said that the reticle is too thick on big magnification. Do you agree on this comment?
Somehow i feel comfortable with IOR rings as the mount setup. Have you had any issues with those or the mount setup you are having overall? Somehow the scope gets elevated quite much because of the rings and main tube( based on pics). Have you noticed anything regarding this? Somehow I'm tempted to get some cant on the base despite the huge built-in elevation
The eye relief is the thing which is making me hesitate. The study states that eye relief varies like 1inch which is huge in my mind. Sales pitch comparably states 15mm. You mentioned that it is noticeable, but is it on the irritating side?

I have 20moa rail even tough my .284win needs only 7.7mil to 1000m and scope has 35+mil
My first impresion of the reticle was 'its thick !' when i first looked at it (i am used to fine crosshair target scopes), but line thickness of 0.1 mil actually serves really well in estimating range so you do not really notice lack of 1/4mil hash as with a bit of practice you can easy and very accurately mil the distance as you can subtract or ad 1/2 - 1/3 of the line thickness ,that is something that is much harder to do with fine lines ,you could say there is a reason to the madness and MP8 is a good design .
I am not certain that there is such a step in eye relief but i did notice it ocasionally( you rarely go up and down full magnification) ,its certanly not desirable but not realy a deal breaker as the scope offers great bang for the buck.
Min and max magnification thickness is the same as in P4 S&B reticle
