Ranskan poliisi hankkii 500 Tikan T3 Tacticalia ja santarmit 1200. Tähtäin Kahles ZF95 6x42 Mildot-ristikolla. Patruuna Lapuan 11 gramman HPS. Tieto löytyi täältä http://www.gign.org/dossier-du-mois/TIKKA.php

Why didn't buy their own wierd rifle? It looks that French pride has fallen and de Gaulle will turn in his grave  :)

Have you seen FR1 or the newer FR2 sniper rifles? They are too long for urban use. Besides I do not think they are manufactured anymore. Tikka must cost 1/3 of their prices.



I read somewhere that French Gendamrerie was planning to buy 5000 of those rifles at some point. Might be that they order them in several shipments because accessories (scopes etc.) will take their time to arrive too. Also training more snipers will take a LONG time.

PGM Precision rifles are in the same top class with Sako TRG, Accuracy International etc. Just a guess, but the French Police and Gendarmerie probably get 2-3 Tikka Tacticals for price of one Ultima Ratio. However, the French military purchases Ultima Ratios, not Tikka Tacticals.

The price difference between Tikka Tactical and Ultima Ratio is more like 1:4. Off-the-shelf Ultima Ratios in 7.62 Nato and similar small calibers start at +4000 Euros without scope mounts or bipods or folding stocks. Tikkas are about 1000 Euros if one buys them in quantity.



At the price level of Ultima Ratios one can buy basically anything because nothing available costs considerably more :-)

I think that they will at least rename Tikka Tactical like they did with their MB G-Wagen jeeps :)
